Palito in Enterpool?
You think a small showbiz guy like Palito couldn’t topbill a movie?
You’re wrong, Palito is now a star in his right as he topbills the action-comedy “Enterpool,” now showing in Metro Manila!
“Enterpool” is the initial production of Starboard Films, with Dr. Felix Cantal as executive producer. Dr. Cantal is a newcomer in the entertainment industry but already he has a number of films ready for shooting and his company is also conducting acting, modelling and martial arts workshops for their own pool of talents. The director, Perry de Guzman, handpicked Palito to play the male lead in “Enterpool” because he believes in the comedian?s own brand of comedy.
In the action-comedy, Palito plays a challenging role, that of a double agent assigned to crush a seemingly untouchable vice syndicate.
Palito’s brother, also a secret law enforcer, has all the documents necessary to pin down the culprits. But the agent dies during an encounter, and as such, Palito has to take over the role and he commits erratic and comic strategies.
Also starring in “Enterpool” is Gretchen Malalad, a gold medalist during a martial arts tournament held in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2003. Gretchen plays a difficult role, since it involves a lot of fight sequences that require her agility in martial arts.
Mykell Chan, often dubbed as the “Jackie Chan of the Philippines,” plays a daring role, including showing his butt!
Other stars in “Enterpool” are Ricky Davao, Inspector Vic Belaro, Roberto Gonzales, Paquito Diaz, Tony Ferrer and Ramon Zamora.

June 11, 2006
Casino Filipino, Paranaque City, 11 June 2006
The panel of judges today proclaimed candidate # 6, Ms. Joanne “Jo” Castillo as the 2006 Bb. Parañaque. She was crowned by Mayor and Mrs. Florencio “Jun” Bernabe.
Jo is 18 years old and stands 5′7″. Showing depth of emotions after being crowned . . .
I was impressed by the quality of the production. It had the look and feel of a fashion show.
Congratulations to Carlos Agustin, director and to Frederick Peralta, official fashion designer.
The show is definitely at par, if not better, than some of the recent national beauty pageants.
It has definitely raised the bar as far as production quality for beauty pageants go.
The coronation night was ably hosted by Gretchen Malalad and Rafa Alunan.
They were both at ease, put the candidates at ease and connected well with the audience.
The performances of Jeffrey Hidalgo, Joaquin, Arthur Manuntag, Danica Velasco and the MYXX Dancers were equal to the occasion. Joaquin was in his elements when he serenaded the candidates and kissed each one twice!
