No matter how hard the entertainment media tried to pull an admission during the open forum, Umagang Kay Ganda lead host Edu Manzano took shelter from clarifying the issue by repeating that he could not talk about his romantic relationship with co-host Pinky Webb. He said that the Code of Ethics they signed with the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs stops them from doing so. For the longest time, the buzz is that they are in a relationship. The entertainment writers took the occasion to get a confirmation. In a succeeding interview, department head Maria Ressa supported Edu’s defense. She said they were required to desist from a discussion of the personal issue during the launching presscon.
Umagang Kay Gandastarted its 5:15 to 8:30 a.m. broadcast yesterday. While maintaining its every-30-minute news content by co-hosts Alex Santos, Gretchen Malalad, Jay Ruiz, Doland Castro and Atom Araullo, live news reports from various points of the country, weather forecast/general information reports by co-host Kim Atienza, political commentary/employment opportunities by Anthony Taberna, traffic reports by Sol Aragones, entertainment reports by Ogie Diaz and home/lifestyle reports by Winnie Cordero, Bernadette Sembrano will do OFW reports with new segments from co-hosts Pinky, Donita Rose and Rica Paralejo. The show aims to be “informative, entertaining and aspiratinal,” aiming to give Pinoys a better life.

Mathay supporters find hidden ballot boxes in QC Hall
Supporters of losing congressional candidate Chuck Mathay found ballot boxes hidden outside the canvassing center at the Quezon City Hall, ABS-CBN reported.
Mathay, who lost out to incumbent Rep. Mary Ann Rosa Susano in the 2nd District of Quezon City, said his followers found 16 ballot boxes hidden in the basement of the Quezon City Hall.
His supporters then staged a rally protesting this occurrence as the ballots contained therein were not included in the count so that his opponent was proclaimed winner in this congressional race last Friday.
Mathay’s daughter, actress Ara Mina, said the ballot boxes reportedly came from the 7th polling precinct which was a stronghold of Mathay.
But Atty. Dyna Valencia, chairman of the Board of Canvassers in Quezon City, said Susano had a comfortable lead so that including the supposedly uncounted election returns would not matter.
"It’s mathematically impossible," Valencia said.
Mathay meanwhile, said what happened was simply unjust and he would discuss the matter with his lawyers preparatory to filing a protest. With reports from Gretchen Malalad.
