Maraming Salamat sa Iyong Dedikasyon!

Please watch our bet for karate, Ms. Gretchen Malalad, as she embarks one of the biggest challenge as the Filipino Karateka in the 15th Asian Games in Doha, Qatar as she will compete for the Women’s  Kumite -60kg on December 13, 2006 (1:00pm Qatar Time) and will be aired on Channel 4 at around 6pm (Philippine Time).  Gretchen, along with the last batch of the athletes, will leave the country on December 9 and will be back on December 15.  The event will be in Qatar Sports Club Indoor Hall.  This “might” be Gretchen’s last fight in the Asiad… so let’s join our hands and lift her victory to God!

Go Philippines!

Team RP joins Asiad family

DOHA, Qatar — The Philippines got off to a losing start in the 15th Asian Games Wednesday, but the defeat hardly dented the will and determination of Filipino athletes to do well in the region’s biggest sporting event.

To shouts of “Go, Philippines!” a motley group of
athletes raised their fists  at the close of the flag raising ceremonies at the Athletes Village Thursday.

“More than the medals that will be won, we are here to secure a bright future for Philippine sports,” declared Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco.

Cojuangco said he believes that with a population of 85 million, there is no  reason why Filipinos should not excel in the international arena.

“The Asian Games is the closest thing to the Olympics. If we perform well here, we can perform everywhere,” said Cojuangco.
