She took up the sport as a 16 year-old in Cainta, Philippines.

Injuries She had surgery on her left shoulder blade prior to the 2002 World Cup, but recovered well enough to claim a bronze medal later on in the year at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. (Planet Philippines 02/07/06)
Other information BEAUTY QUEEN
While recuperating from her shoulder injuries, she joined the Binibig, a pageant that gave her a shot at representing the Philippines at the Miss Universe contest. She reported for the entrant’s interview barely a week after her cast was removed and said: “I really had a hard time learning how to walk and pose like a beauty queen because I move and walk like a man! Nevertheless it was a great experience. Unforgettable.” She did not make the final 15 of the pageant but walked away with the ‘Miss Talent’ award, thanks to her karate demonstration. SHOWBIZ CAREER
She has hosted several television programmes and been a court-side reporter for the PBA/PBL station, but found controversy as a housemate in the celebrity edition of Pinoy’s Big Brother. She was forced to leave the Big Brother house to report to her superiors in the Philippines Air Force after she was charged with going AWOL to join the show.
