August 17, 2006 edition of TV Patrol World finally revealed the teachers of the upcoming reality show in ABS-CBN, the Pinoy Dream Academy.
Our very own, Ms. Gretchen Malalad, will be the scholars’ Fitness Teacher, along with Ms. Maribeth Bichara as the Dance Teacher and Mr. Moy Ortiz, of The Company, for basic singing.
Gretchen Malalad fans… Gege’s Sidekicks, get ready for a lot of Gege this coming August! A heads up!

Star Academy a.k.a. (Pinoy Dream Academy), another international reality star search from ENDEMOL.
A reality show which features 16 students who live together in a big house installed with cameras that record everything they do & say 24 hours a day. They are deprived of any contact with the outside world, except weekly visits from Artists & maybe relatives. In this house which is more of a school than a house they take lessons –sports, dancing, theatre, singing & more- . Every week 3 students are chosen as “nominees” & in the weekly Prime one of them is voted out by his friends. The nominees are chosen according to how they perform in the classes, the prime & how they deal with the atmosphere they are living in. After 14 weeks two students are left & the audience votes a winner, this winner is named “The Star”.

Star Academy gives viewers the unique opportunity to find out what it takes to be a real star.
The Star Academy - Twelve candidates, aged between 16 and 19, live together in a specially designed Star Academy. Here they are trained for twelve weeks by a crack team of professionals, whose ultimate goal is to create a new six-piece boy/girl band.
The Star Team - As a real-life soap opera, Star Academy gives viewers a look behind the scenes of the recording industry as the wannabes receive their training by an incredible team of teachers consisting of a composer, a stylist, a photographer, a media trainer, a financial adviser, a director, a sports instructor and a even a biographer! National and international celebrities also come by to share their experiences in this quest for stardom.
The Stardom - As each day goes by, the participants get closer to their dream of becoming a star. However, each week one teenager is voted out of the Star Academy - shortlisted by a panel of experts but ultimately evicted by the general public who either send text messages or vote online.As the pressure builds and the stakes get higher, millions of viewers get to see the real personalities behind these would-be stars.
